Keep Christmas Fun with TV Favourites
There are plenty of family occasions when there’s nothing better than sitting down in front of a classic movie or favourite TV series. As much as we all love our families, there comes a time when it’s great for you all to be focusing your attention on a common goal – rather than on each other! Long autumn and winter holidays or extensive Christmas gatherings are ideal examples of the perfect time to make sure that everyone is happy and entertained in front of the TV.
In the winter holidays children enjoy up to two weeks away from school and, if the weather’s good, this can be a blessing. When heavy rain or sleet falls you could be in for a problem, with siblings fractious and at each other’s throats while parents are desperate for a moment’s peace. What better way to restore harmony than by watching some cartoon capers or a children’s film that will quell the kids’ boredom and often provide a few laughs for the adults too?
Christmas is traditionally a time for comedy specials of your favourite TV series as well as movie premiers and classic films on the TV, meaning there are always loads to choose from at this time of year. When you think of all the grandparents, cousins and aunties and uncles that need entertained over the important Christmas break, it’s clear that the packed viewing schedule is just what you need to make sure there’s something for everyone!
From the Queen’s speech to an Only Fools and Horses Special to the latest blockbuster, Christmas wouldn’t be the same without a quiet hour or two in front of the telly with a glass of brandy and some chocolates. It wouldn’t be the same without granddad snoozing in the corner either, so it’s lucky that he can sleep through even the loudest action film these days.
As technology evolves, the viewing experience improves too, meaning that the whole family can enjoy watching their favourites in the clearest fashion. Families with services such as Sky HD will be looking forward to testing out the quietening power of the TV on the younger members of the family as well as enjoying the high-definition view for themselves.
The only thing you’ll have to be careful of this Christmas is who has control of the remote! Hide it somewhere good if you’ve got your own plans about which programmes your family should be enjoying this festive season.
