Which Dubai Attractions Are Worth Visiting?
No matter where you go on holiday there will be local attractions that always draw a lot of visitors. And Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, is no exception.
One of the modern and most eye catching sights in Dubai – particularly from the air – is the Palm Jumeirah Island. This has been created entirely by man, and the name comes from the fact that it looks like a palm tree. Roads and dwellings extend out from the main road, and there are plenty of places to visit during your stay. It’s certainly worth a look.
Of course Dubai also has plenty of older and more historic sites to offer. There are plenty of other more traditional things you can do while you are there as well. One of the top rated things to do is to go on a desert safari.
Several companies offer these, so be sure to book onto one that is well regarded. You will find a number of options available as well; some companies operate overnight safaris as well as ones that run during the day.
The most popular part of the safari adventure is driving across the sand dunes. Most excursions will also give you the opportunity to try your hand at navigating a quad bike across them. It’s certainly a good way to work up an appetite for your evening dinner!
If that sounds a little too strenuous for you, there is plenty more to keep you occupied instead. Try heading for Dubai Creek for example. It basically splits the city in two, and there is plenty to do on either side.
You can also get a water taxi to take you from one bank to the other. This is often the best way to get good photographs of the buildings on either bank. With a plethora of local markets – called souks – on each side of the creek, you won’t fall short of things to haggle for and buy.
Elsewhere you can see what could be Dubai’s oldest building. It is the venue for the Dubai Museum, which reveals essential items from Dubai’s past that help to shed some light on the amazing journey it has taken. It is certainly very different today from how it was even a few short decades ago. It is quite amazing though to think that this old building is only two hundred or so years old. Compared to other parts of the world, Dubai is still quite new in some respects.
If you are planning on taking a holiday in Dubai, you will find plenty of Dubai flights to easily get you into the city. There is a lot of accommodation available too, including some stunning hotels that are in themselves modern landmarks. All you have to decide is which one will be the perfect venue for the duration of your stay.
