Head for a Dream Shopping Trip in Birmingham
Anybody who loves shopping should take note – London is not the only place in the UK that’s fantastic for hitting the town and discovering great new fashion opportunities. In fact, there are many other British cities that excel when it comes to fashion, including Glasgow in central Scotland and Birmingham in the west midlands.
An energetic and cosmopolitan city, Birmingham really has it all when it comes to shopping, from hole-in-the-wall boutiques to massive shopping centres – in particular the Bullring, which is the busiest shopping centre in the UK.
No matter what type of style you have, whether it’s keeping up with the ever-changing high street, ensuring you look glamorous at all times by sporting the hottest designer labels or enjoying showing off your individuality by wearing an alternative style when it comes to how you dress, you can rest assured that Birmingham will always have precisely what you’re looking for on offer.
A great place to start is, of course, the Bullring shopping centre. Many avid shopping fans find they could spend any amount of time in this huge building, from hours to days – there’s just so much to take in. The Bullring is home to the UK’s largest Debenhams department store outside of London and also houses one of the four Selfridges that reside in the UK outside of its capital – already two great reasons to pay a visit.
What’s more, with its fascinating beginnings as a market in the Middle Ages, there’s something heart-warming about the Bullring that makes visiting it an excellent experience even for those interested more in history than in shopping. After all, when a centre so huge came from a tiny market in the middle of a far smaller area in 1154, it’s really fascinating to see how Birmingham has since grown and to speculate on how much the market had to do with its success.
Of course, Birmingham has plenty more to offer other than sprawling shopping centres – though these are ideal for those rainy days. The town centre is packed with just as many high street stores, as well as myriad boutiques where one-of-a-kind fashion is sold and you can find incredible, unique outfits to really propel you to the lead when it comes to excellent fashion choices.
A shopping trip to Birmingham is a wonderful break for retail lovers – just make sure you can fit all your new purchases into your room in the Birmingham hotels you’re staying in!
