Day Time Quiz Shows
If you’re at home for a day off and are unsure of what to do, a relaxing holiday can quickly become boring. The same goes for if you work at home and are taking your lunch break.
Sometimes, if there’s nothing to do to fill your time, you feel as though you may as well just keep working. Taking a break is an important part of working during the day – it ensures you stay alert and goes a long way towards improving your mood if you’re having a bad day.
It can be a strong temptation to simply switch on the TV – but this needn’t be a bad thing. There are many excellent programmes being shown during the day that can brighten up your holiday – or your lunch break – and will mean that you can enjoy a stimulating time while you relax. Day time quiz shows are one such example of a television programme that can be both edifying and entertaining. The competition between the teams or contestants keeps us entertained while the challenge of answering the questions engages our minds so that we spend the time using our brains rather than simply taking the show in.
Even if you’re not too good at general knowledge questions, day time quiz shows are a convenient way to expand your general knowledge. After all, if you don’t know the answer to the questions being asked, all you have to do is wait until the answer is revealed and then see if you remember it at a later date. Day time quiz shows are an excellent way by which we can gain more general knowledge, as well as useful ways to sharpen our wits.
For example, the 90s show Catchphrase – repeated frequently – is a fantastic exercise for learning how to think in the abstract as players connect images with a well-known phrase and are forced to take the metaphor literally rather than how it is supposed to be understood.
Similarly, shows like The Weakest Link and other question and answer shows are great for increasing general knowledge – and watching Anne Robinson vocally slay poor performers on her show never gets old.
If you’re a fan of day time quiz shows, you can check out what TV packages are on offer to provide you with all your favourites when you want them – and enjoy learning more in style.
